Buffalo Mountain Nature & Hiking Preserve

Buffalo Mountain Nature Preserve is one of the most significant natural areas in Virginia because it supports 13 rare plants, 3 rare animals, and 6 significant natural communities. A great place to view wildflowers and wildlife. There is a 1-mile hiking trail to the summit which allows for 360-degree views upon arrival. The area is dog friendly, but they must be kept on a leash. High winds can sometimes be an issue at the summit, but a great outing for those that love hiking.
